Kathmandu Gurkhaz have announced the signing of English all-rounder Dan Douthwaite for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL), scheduled from November 30 to December 20, 2024.
Douthwaite, 27, has been a consistent performer in England's domestic cricket. In 62 T20 matches, he has scored 630 runs, including two half-centuries, and taken 57 wickets.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Douthwaite stated, "I'm thrilled to join Kathmandu Gurkhaz for the NPL and look forward to an exciting journey with the team."
With Douthwaite's addition, Kathmandu Gurkhaz have now secured four international players, including Michael Levitt from the Netherlands, Gerhard Erasmus from Namibia, and England's Stephen Eskinazi. The team roster currently comprises 15 players, with plans to add one more through a talent hunt.
The squad features national team members like Karan KC, who serves as the marquee player, and Bhim Sharki, along with emerging talents from domestic cricket. Basanta Shahi Thakuri leads the team as the head coach.
The NPL, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), will see eight teams competing in Kathmandu.
